Elizabeth and Derek are the sweetest. In a room full of people you can look at them and know they only see each other. They were married this month in a lovely winter-themed ceremony at Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, North Carolina (the flower girl dropped little snowflakes instead of flowers and Elizabeth’s dad had fresh snow put down in front of the reception site before they arrived – how sweet!)
Their reception was held at La Volta Restaurant in downtown Raleigh. Elizabeth’s father Vinny is the executive chef at this amazing Italian restaurant and threw on an apron over his tux after the ceremony to cook all night for hundreds of family and friends. (f you live in the Triangle area and love authentic Italian cuisine you MUST go eat at La Volta – the atmosphere is charming and the food is unforgettable). Derek and Elizabeth’s parents put so much time and love into decorating the restaurant and I’m sure they were all covered in glitter by the time they were finished but it was so so beautiful.
It was a privilege to be a part of this wedding and witness two enormous, loving families come together to celebrate Derek and Elizabeth.
Here’s just a preview of their lovely day. Much more to come.
